As part of a contact seminar in Finland in June 2010 a group of partners came together interested in one particular topic – how to make training more effective, in particular how to ensure that learning outcomes are applied in the workplace.

Our focus was clear – is our vocational training actually working? Can our learners apply what they have learnt in the work place? Is the training useful?

As a group we were particularly interested in blended learning approaches to VET. Our partnership comprises the following countries

  1. Iceland – Reykjavik University (Lead Partner)
    Ásrún Matthíasdóttir -

  2. UK – Funding Ideas Ltd. A specialist training and consultancy company supporting the not for profit sector in the UK and beyond.

  3. Lithuania - Vytautas Magnus University
    Vilma Zydziunaite -

  4. Austria – abif (Research Institute)
    Sandra Schneeweiss -

  5. Belgium - Katholieke Hogeschool Kempen (University College)
    Jef Adriaenssens -

Each partner operates in a different VET sector and at different academic levels. Hence together we are in a strong position to develop new practical products and services which will help a wide range of training providers to improve the quality of VET in different EU member states.
